Schaffer & Clark Law PLLC is a commercial real estate law firm founded by Suzanne Schaffer and Karen Clark. Suzanne and Karen have each practiced in the commercial real estate legal field for more than a decade and bring big law firm experience to their clients delivered in an efficient manner with the client’s needs in mind. With a broad understanding of the commercial real estate markets, Schaffer & Clark saw that clients sought sophisticated legal services typically offered in large law firms, but provided in a flexible and responsive manner at cost-effective rates. Thus, Schaffer & Clark Law PLLC was formed to provide high quality legal services to the real estate industry offering excellent client service, flexibility and efficiency that a small firm is uniquely positioned to provide.
Our service is focused and individualized. Our firm routinely handles real estate transactions for projects located throughout the United States, with investors and regional and national developers, on matters related to:
Acquisition and disposition
Sale – Leaseback transactions
Portfolio management
Retail, office and industrial leasing
Development, construction and permanent financing
Tax deferred exchanges
Ground leases transactions
Zoning and land use regulation
Easements, restrictions and other development agreements
Subdivision development
Sustainability for all aspects of real estate development, management and operation
Although our focus is real estate law, we participate in formal and informal networks of colleagues with other practice capabilities such as corporate, tax and litigation. We often serve as co-counsel with these colleagues – subject to full disclosure to our clients and having obtained their prior approval – in order to provide comprehensive representation in more complex transactions or cases.
In addition to our more traditional real estate practice, Karen Clark is LEED certified and provides counsel on issues related to green building and sustainability.
